Pink Food Palette

For someone who only recently made a pink food photography background, I realised that I had more pink food than I realised.

Pink has always felt too easy, too easy, too done. But shooting pink can be challenging. Challenging to balance the colour with colour theory, shadows and editing.

Looking over some of the pink images in my portfolio, I see that it’s actually a beautiful colour that I want to shoot more of.

Winter Cocktails

Shooting cocktails honestly gives me the most joy. There is just such little prep work in make them for a photoshoot and you get to play with glassware.

If you didn’t know, I am totally obsessed with glassware. Every time I go to the thrift store, there is literally an arm full of pieces I want to take home. Usually for $10 for the lot. It’s so hard to say no!

One of the things that’s really beautiful about shooting winter cocktails is the way the light changes. It can be so dramatic and full of contrast, to bright and airy on a sunny day. It makes me feel the way the winter light dances back in my home Australia (which is totally different from the dark and gloomy but equally beautiful Pacific North West).

As its citrus season, it’s such a beautiful time to make and shoot cocktails.
