Pineberry Photography
What are pineberries, you might ask? Well, they are essentially a variation of strawberries, bread that is white with a taste like pineapple. When I saw them at the store for the first time, I was curious. They looked pretty in the packaging. But quickly on set, I learned they are this weird mix of pretty and ugly simultaneously.
These subjects were a gradients of pink to yellow to white, with discolouration and soft spots. I ended up leaning into this feeling and didn’t retouch any of the berries. I think it’s a nice juxtaposition to the pretty pink backdrop.
