Blood Orange Syrup Cakes

I was drawn to these little syrup cakes from Donna Hay’s Modern Baking book. Using semolina flower and fresh blood orange.

The focus behind this shoot was to go for technical perfection with a focus on shooting with my Nikkor 105mm micro lens.

Who doesn’t love drips (the money shot).

Babovka Bundt Cake

Babovka is an Eastern European style cake. It was one of my late Mother-In-Law’s specialties. I have a slight obsession with bundt cakes (but let’s be honest, who doesn’t!). This is not the traditional shape for the Babovka, however, it is a shaped pan that I have always wanted in my collection.

This shape of bundt cake is the, kugelhopf - isn’t she beautiful!
