Delicious Cinnamon, Star anise and Apple Soup Food Photos

This soup is made with cinnamon and star anise and apple! I would never have imagined that those flavours went to together in a savoury dish. So it has an unexpected but delicious flavour and is slightly sweetened by the apple. It was a recipe that I bought in a Southern Living Magazine and I’m so glad I found it. 

My favourite thing about this shot is how I took it with moody light and deep shadows to reveal the creaminess and texture of the garnish on the soup. I find creamy soups without garnishes are boring. 

The garnish is not only to add crunch to the taste experience, it also gives the viewer an elevated experience.
